Hello! My name is Jeffrey, or JR, and I started working as a professional artist while I was still in undergrad school. I have been teaching art for the past 8 years. I have been teaching art at every level; kindergarten up to college. I also give private lessons at my studio in life drawing. Additionally, I have had a long career (20+ yrs) as a graphic designer and art director. I show and sell my work locally at several galleries.
I Love Tutoring Because
I am really exited to be tutoring Art History! It's a fascinating subject that I am always exploring. It's also a cornerstone subject for anyone wanting to pursue a career as an artist. Art history is a reflection of the culture where art was created, and the time it was created in. Art can influence and record human history. Much of what we know today about the past has been due to the art and architecture that was created. If you are a visual artist (like me), your creative endeavors will only benefit by understanding the art that influences you. If you can have a deeper understanding of other art and artists, you will see your own work growing in meaning and execution.
