Dr. Bagherpour, a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with a specialty in interventional radiology, is a trailblazer who has built accredited residency programs in the US and is transforming medical education in the Caribbean.

ACSOM's admissions requirements are similar to medical schools in the US and Canada, per Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) guidelines. The Faculty Admissions Committee evaluates applicants in a comprehensive manner to consider not only GPA and test scores, but also motivation, maturity, volunteer service, leadership ability, and knowledge of the medical field. This well-rounded evaluation ensures prospective students have the ability to excel at ACSOM.
ACSOM Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
MCAT (submit scores from all attempts)
Two Letters of Recommendation (one academic and one professional)
Fluency in English
Prerequisite coursework:
One year of biology consisting of general biology or higher (example of higher level biology includes a course in anatomy, physiology, combined anatomy and physiology, microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, etc.)
Two semesters of general chemistry
One semester of organic chemistry
One semester of algebra or biostatistics
One semester of physics

You will spend 50% of your 4-year MD education (years 3 and 4) in the US at our premier partner teaching hospitals. The first 2 years of your MD journey take place in the safe and beautiful island of Dominica on our world-class campus where our clinical focus from day one will have you prepared and confident for your residency in the US or Canada.
