Academics
With its small class sizes and low tuition, Adelphi University offers convenience and “flexibility to those coming from other disciplines” in its MBA program, all on a “beautiful and well-kept campus.” Adelphi offers both part-time and full-time programs, and students can enjoy a combination of in-person, online, and blended classes. This allows students to craft a course schedule that complements their life and outside commitments, choosing a specialization from several categories: accounting, finance, health services administration, human resources management, information systems, management, marketing and sports management. With this variety, students are certain to find a field that appeals to their skillsets and sensibilities.
Having small class sizes not only ensures that the courses “are always interesting” but also makes MBA candidates feel important on campus. As one states, “I don’t feel like a number, [I feel like] a student.” Plus, they’re led by “professors [who] are very knowledgeable” and are accessible for individualized attention when needed. As one student shares, “The greatest strengths of Adelphi University are the teachers.” Another gushes, “They go out of their way to help you understand the subject matter and seem to really care.” They do expect you to work hard, but “once you do that, they are very willing to assist … as much as possible so you can do well.” Overall, “the courses are challenging and give the opportunity to use [material] in a work environment.”
Outside of the classroom, Adelphi has many other fantastic opportunities. For example, the school runs an on-site trading room equipped with the same Bloomberg terminals used on Wall Street. Working closely with faculty, students make recommendations for how to invest money that’s been allocated to the Student Investment Fund. Moreover, Adelphi runs the Innovation Center that helps to fund research in the areas of decision sciences, technology, and innovation. More specifically, the resources the school provides are used to develop curricula in informatics along with new ways technology can help businesses. Additionally, the center sponsors workshops and seminars that highlight innovation. If that wasn’t enticing enough, Adelphi also partners with Becker Professional Education to offer on-campus prep classes for the CPA exam.
