Academics
Saint Joseph University’s proud “Jesuit tradition” challenges students “intellectual abilities” while providing “a holistic business education.” “Saint Joseph’s University has a solid academic reputation and offers scheduling flexibility for working students.” The Finance program in particular has a “great reputation” especially in the Philadelphia area. SJU has “strong alumni ties in the region” and students love the location in one of America’s most famous Eastern cities. Students are very pleased with the “fairly priced” and “reasonable” tuition. “The part time MBA is flexible and recognized,” and the school offers the “freedom to attend classes online or on campus.” The Jesuit tradition is infused in the culture of SJU, something many students love. “The idea of social responsibility and teaching individuals for the greater good of society is a real focal point,” one student declares, “and I think that is something our country needs at the moment.”
“Course offerings have been plentiful and variable (allowing the available times to easily fit your work/home schedules),” one Project Management student reports. “Professors and Faculty are excellent,” although some complain the administration “sometimes makes questionable decisions related to the quality of students accepted into the program.” Others say “the administration is extremely helpful particularly regarding picking classes.” “Almost everyone is helpful and informative” and “you can tell the faculty and staff really care and are passionate about the school.” Courses at SJU “[integrate] past and present business techniques and concepts.” As at many schools, your academic experience “really comes down to which professors you have that make or break your experience.” Still, “generally the Professors are well rounded” and “very supportive of students.” “So far so good,” reports a Business and Finance student. “I am about to begin my third semester and have only great things to say about Saint Joseph’s University.” Another likens SJU to “the picture of a well-oiled machine” and says “from the moment I showed up at an information session until now, my ninth week of my first semester, every experience has been a positive one.”
