Our MBA program also has been recognized by the World Resources Institute as "cutting-edge" for leadership in training students in social and environmental stewardship. This is an exciting time for the School -SBPM held a ceremonial groundbreaking in fall 2002 on a new business school facility, a $50 million project that will be the physical foundation for the School's future. We believe that the creation and dissemination of knowledge is essential for effective management. Our mission is to serve current and future leaders, managers and professionals in the global community by offering superior learning opportunities in business and public management; engaging in research and other scholarly activities to advance management theory and practice; and providing management and professional expertise to business, government and not-for-profit organizations.

Inside the classroom, MBA candidates are greeted by “polished,” “professional” and “brilliant” professors who typically “maintain an open door policy.” One impressed student volunteers, “Most of my professors have exceeded my expectations in terms of making their subject matter relevant and engaging.” Unfortunately, MBAs aren’t as kind when it comes to GW’s administrators. Many bluntly assert that they “are poor at their jobs.” However, as one optimistic student explains, “We went through three different deans since I’ve started a couple years ago, but again, things are picking up and changing for the better.”

Outside of the classroom, GW’s b-school provides “a number of networking opportu- nities, both professional and social, to help create a strong sense of community among [students].” Many MBAs also like to take advantage of the numerous student clubs, which continually prove to be “very effective at hosting weekly activities including alumni panels [and] workshops. Lots of students also get together to collaborate on and participate in “business plan competitions [and] case competitions.” Of course, most students point to the “unofficial post class happy hours” as a personal highlight. In fact, they are so popular that “faculty frequently join” as well. Lastly, students are fortunate enough to have D.C. as their playground. It’s a “trendy” city that is “easy to get around” and features some of the finest restaurants, museums and cultural activities in the world. What more could you possibly desire?
