Academics
The University of Tennessee-Chattanooga College of Business is offers a fast-paced, accelerated MBA program with an international component and a focus on group projects, not to mention being the only AACSB-accredited program in the area. With four required electives and two capstone courses (in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship and New Ventures), and an optional accompanying graduate certificate in Data Analytics (through the Big Data Analytics and Research Center), the relatively young school is growing in name and offerings and is “excellent about staying up with current trends.” “UTC is on the forefront of business advancement,” says a student. The Online Professional MBA is taught by the same professors that teach on-campus, and these students say there is “always an opportunity to communicate with classmates and the professors.”
The professors are “helpful” and “teach the classes to where it makes sense to those even without business backgrounds.” They are “always reachable and eager to help and make sure you understand the material.” Faculty “treat the students very much like peers . . . everyone is treated as an equal and we share a common goal of growth.” Although some say that “it can be difficult at times to get into certain classes,” the administration does a “good job of making sure that you have the correct classes, and they will do what they need to do to aid in your education.” Administrators “are invested in the success of their students and have their institution’s best interests at heart.”
